What we do

Buspoji sells seats on services leaving temporarily occupied cities. We are not a carrier and we do not drive anyone anywhere. What we do is put the departures that exist in one place, show the real conditions attached to each one, and take payment so that a seat is actually held.

Before this existed, finding a seat meant asking in group chats, agreeing a price by phone, and hoping the vehicle turned up. That still works for some people. It is also where most of the fraud happens.

Why the direction is one-way

Every route on this site runs outward, from an occupied city to government-controlled Ukraine or onward to Poland and Czechia. We do not sell tickets in the opposite direction and we do not intend to. That is a deliberate limit on what this service is for.

How we choose carriers

• A current licence for the routes they run, checked before listing and re-checked periodically
• Insurance covering passengers for the whole journey
• Published change and refund conditions, shown to you before you pay rather than after
• A named contact who answers the phone during a journey, not only during office hours
• A record of running the route they claim to run

What we are honest about

Journey times on these routes are estimates with a wide margin. The wait at the control point is outside anyone's control and is usually the longest part of the trip. Carriers publish a time that includes the expected wait rather than a driving time they cannot meet, and we show that number rather than a more attractive one.

Departures move. Vehicles are small. Seats sell out. None of that is comfortable to say on a booking site, and all of it is true.

What we will not do

• Sell a seat to someone whose documents will not get them through — we would rather lose the booking
• Advertise a journey time we do not believe
• Take a booking for a service a carrier has told us is suspended
• Pass passenger data to anyone other than the carrier performing the journey
